🥾🍂 Join Us for a Fall Adventure on the Metacomet Trail! 🍂🥾
I’ll be away from mid through the end of September, so I won’t be hosting another hike until October. I’m looking forward to getting everyone back together for our next adventure!

📍 Where: Metacomet Trail Loop – Ragged Mountain Memorial Preserve
⏰ Meet-Up Time: 12:00 PM
🥾 Distance: Approximately 4 miles
⏳ Estimated Time: 2½–3 hours
🟡 Difficulty: Moderate

We’ll be hiking a 4-mile loop along the Metacomet Trail through Ragged Mountain Memorial Preserve. While the mileage is manageable, this is a moderate hike with varied terrain, so we’re allowing 2½–3 hours to complete it.
As always, this is not a race! We’ll hike at a comfortable group pace, take breaks when needed, enjoy the views, and hopefully take in some beautiful October foliage along the way. 🍁🌲

🐾 Lucy’s Pro Tip: I may insist on leading the pack, but we’ll hike at a pace that keeps the group together! Friendly dogs are welcome but should be kept on a leash.

🎒 What to Bring

🥾 Hiking shoes or boots with good traction
👕 Comfortable layers — October temperatures can change quickly
💧 Plenty of water
🍎 Snacks for the trail
🕶️ Sunglasses and sunscreen
🦯 Trekking poles if you like using them
🐾 Water and supplies for your four-legged hiking companion

📍 Parking & Meeting Location

We’ll meet at the parking lot off West Lane, which leads into Ragged Mountain Memorial Preserve.
Trailhead: 437 West Ln, Berlin, CT 06037
Please arrive a few minutes early so we can gather, do introductions, and get organized before heading onto the trail at approximately 12:10 PM.

“No complaining until the hike is done.” 😄 By then, hopefully you’ll be too happy you did it to complain!

Meetup has increased its rates for running groups. Leading and organizing these adventures is a passion of mine, and I absolutely ❤️ doing it!
