"One Cut of the Dead" Discussion: Watch it at Home First

"One Cut of the Dead" (2017, 97 min.) is probably the most charming horror/comedy of all time. Made in Japan for the equivalent of $25,000, it ended up grossing the equivalent of $30.5 million worldwide and gaining universal critical acclaim. I won't spoil the plot except to say that it is not hard-core horror, so you'll probably enjoy it even if you're squeamish about gore. Steve suggested the movie and has graciously offered to host the meeting.

Watch "One Cut of the Dead" on your own and come ready to chat about it. We'll meet at Pryes Brewing, which has lots of space and isn't very noisy. It's near downtown Minneapolis but has plenty of parking. I'll get there around 6:30 p.m. and try to claim a table on the opposite side of the bar. Get a drink and then head to the other end of the building, to one of the long tables near the risers. It's quietest there and there will hopefully be a long table free (though we might have to move around at least once to find enough space). You'll be able to identify me by my black baseball cap that says "Weird Movie Club" on it. I'll post in this event listing if we end up somewhere else in the building.
