We will take a ride to Balnarring Beach to camp overnight and enjoy the beach-side location.

\ This ride is a CAMPING TOUR. If you do not have tent and camping gear, and panniers to carry them, perhaps you are not ready for this tour!

This will be a fairly flexible ride to suit the people who sign on and the weather on the weekend. If it is a hot weekend we can enjoy the beach and only do a short access ride. If the weather is cooler we will do the longer route that I have posted here (or possibly some suitable variation of it).
The plan is to meet at Frankston. From here we can ride mostly on shared paths and quieter roads for 46 km to Balnarring Beach. We use the Baxter Trail, Peninsulalink Trail, and Westernport Trail to Hastings. From here we will take the delightful boardwalk of the Bittern Coastal Trail, to Crib Point and then some quieter rural roads to get to Balnarring.
Balnarring Beach has a a basic camping grounds, right by the beach and close to the Tulum Store (cafe). A supermarket is 2km away.
Next day's route will depend upon weather. If hot weather we will enjoy the beach then go to Merricks General Store before looping back to Bittern for a train home. If it is cooler we can do the longer route across the peninsula to ride via Mt Martha, Mornington and Mt Eliza back to Frankston.

The longer distance route is HERE.

A medium distance return route is HERE.

If you cannot make it to the ride please change your RSVP to 'NO' at least one day before the ride day.
