Join me for our first overnight bike touring adventure on Saturday, November 7–Sunday, November 8, 2026!
We’ll ride from Greeley to Fort Collins along the 🚲 Poudre River Trail, camp overnight at 🏕️ Fort Collins Lakeside KOA, and ride back the following day. Enjoy time outdoors with friends and experience carrying your camping gear by bike!
I’ve reserved a group campsite for us!

📅 Trip Details

Dates: Saturday, November 7–Sunday, November 8
Starting location: Greeley—exact meeting point and overnight parking details to come
Meeting and departure time: To be announced
Camping: 🏕️ Fort Collins Lakeside KOA
Saturday distance: Approximately 41–51 miles, depending on your riding option
Sunday distance: Approximately 41 miles
Weekend total: Approximately 82–92 miles

🚲 The Ride
Our route follows the paved Poudre River Trail, with a short road connection to the campground. We’ll carry our own clothing, camping gear, and supplies.
This is a social touring trip, with stops to regroup, rest, eat, and enjoy the scenery. You should be comfortable riding 40+ miles per day while carrying your gear.
🏕️ Saturday: Three Riding Options

Option 1: Head straight to camp—approximately 41 miles. Set up your tent and relax.
Option 2: Ride to the trail’s end, then return to camp—approximately 50 miles. Complete the longer ride with your gear.
Option 3: Drop off your gear, then continue—approximately 50–51 miles total. Unload your panniers at KOA, then ride to the trail’s end and back with a lighter bike, depending on check-in availability.

🌅 Sunday: Return to Greeley
After breakfast, we’ll pack up camp and ride approximately 41 miles back to our starting point in Greeley.
🚴 Bikes & Carrying Your Gear
Touring, gravel, hybrid, and road bikes are suitable for the paved route, provided they can safely carry your overnight equipment.
If you own a hybrid or gravel bike, a compatible removable rack and panniers can help you carry your gear. Old Man Mountain is one option to explore—check compatibility with your bike before purchasing.
You don’t need a dedicated touring bike, but please make sure your bike is in good working condition and test your loaded setup before the trip.
🎒 What to Bring

Bike and helmet
Rack and panniers or securely attached bikepacking bags
Tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad suitable for November temperatures
Warm layers, gloves, and weather protection
Water, riding snacks, and food for your overnight stay
Spare tube, pump, tire levers, and basic repair tools
Front and rear bike lights
Phone charger and charging cable—the campsite has electricity

🍽️ Food & Camping
Bring enough food and snacks to be self-sufficient. We can coordinate meals closer to the trip. The campground is near town, so we can also head into Fort Collins to grab a meal together.
🚗 Transportation & Parking
We’ll start and finish in Greeley. Exact parking details will be shared once overnight parking is confirmed.
Please comment if you’re interested in carpooling and whether you can transport another rider and their bike.
⚠️ Please Keep in Mind
This is a self-supported trip with no support vehicle. Everyone is responsible for carrying their equipment and being prepared for the riding distance.
Looking forward to our first overnight bike tour together! 🚴‍♂️🏕️
