Sydney Money Club — FIRE, Saving, Investing & Everything Money One of our members suggested we have a session on the FIRE movement — Financial Independence, Retire Early — so let’s give it a go. We’ll spend some time talking about FIRE: what it is, whether it’s realistic, saving rates, investing and the trade-offs involved. Then we’ll open it up into a completely free-form money discussion — what are you saving for, how are you saving, what are you investing in, what do you want to understand better? We also have a couple of stocks we are going to talk about as requested by members. If you have any you're curious about, please put them in the event chat. No assumed knowledge whatsoever. Beginners are very welcome. I work as a share analyst, so I’m very happy to talk about shares and investing all day long, but this isn’t intended to be a lecture. Bring whatever money questions or subjects interest you and we’ll see where the conversation goes. We’ll keep this one small — around 5–10 people — and grab a table at the pub for a relaxed chat over drinks and nibbles.
