Attendance has been historically low since this group was originally founded in Feb 2018 by a personal friend of mine. I took the group over in Oct 2019 with great hope to increase attendance by offering you wonderful unique & interesting vintage-inspired events. It seems most don’t have a big enough interest for Vintage events unless it’s dining.

WE ARE NOT A DESIGNATED DINING-ONLY EVENT GROUP. WE ARE A “VINTAGE ENTHUSIAST” GROUP.

I’m very reluctant to continue scheduling vintage-performance events including burlesque, dapper day events, antiquing events, classic movies, classic car shows and historical tours. Each time I do, attendance is significantly low.

⚠️If overall attendance doesn’t begin to increase before my next renewal I am strongly considering closing the group next SPRING. If you care to save the group I urge you to consider getting involved as a Co-organizer or by participation. Your support is CRUCIAL for the future longevity of this group. I can no longer do it all on my own. My free time is extremely limited now for the next two years as I focus on personal projects.

SMOKE HOUSE
In 1948, the Smoke House Restaurant moved up the street to its present day location, taking over what was then the Red Coach Inn. Originally built in 1947 by Danny Kaye, the Red Coach Inn never opened as a restaurant because Kaye couldn't build a large enough dance floor in the space.

The Smoke House Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Burbank with a long going connection to the Hollywood crowd. When the original restaurant opened you could frequently see such stars as Bob Hope, who was a Burbank resident, as well as Bing Crosby. Because of the restaurants proximity to both Warner Bros. and the Disney Studios you could see a multitude of ‘A-list’ stars. It has served as a primary hideaway for studio executives, crew members, and celebrities for eight decades.

It wasn't unusual to see stars like Errol Flynn, Milton Berle or Judy Garland. During the filming of East of Eden, Burl Ives would pick up his young costar James Dean and they would sometimes head to the Smoke House for lunch or dinner. Many Disney animators and stars have also come to the Smoke House because of being close to work.

Even today the Smoke House Restaurant attracts many stars. Andy Garcia and George Clooney are frequent visitors. Clooney in fact enjoys the restaurant so much that he named his production company after the business: Smokehouse Productions.
The restaurant has appeared to change very little over the years. The inside feels like you are stepping back in time, with the red booths and old-fashioned telephone jacks at the table (in case you got an important call).

• Time-Capsule Vibe: Stepping inside feels like walking onto a vintage movie set, featuring dark wood paneling, low candlelight, and iconic red pleather booths.

• Screen Appearances: The restaurant has been featured in major productions like La La Land and Argo.

• Nostalgic Touches: The interior functions almost like a museum of celebrity photos, and a roving table photographer still captures souvenir pictures for diners.

Free street parking in the residential neighborhood. Pass their valet parking entrance as the street slightly curves to the right.
