Valley Forge National Park, Valley Creek

Valley Forge National Park hike. Approx 8 miles through the woods and meadows of the park. Moderate pace. Hopefully lots of fall foliage. We'll start at the Washington Memorial Chapel and follow the Chapel Trail to Washington's Headquarters. From there we'll pick up the Valley Creek Trail to Knox's quarters then the JPM Trail to our lunch spot at Wayne's Woods Picnic Area. After lunch we'll check out the National Memorial Arch and then meander through the meadows back to our starting point. We'll be paved and dirt trails through rolling hills. Some exposed rocks and roots. Nothing too extreme.

Meet at the larger chapel parking lot which is at the far right of the property as you enter. I will be driving a white Honda Odyssey. Restrooms at the start and various spots along the hike. Wear sturdy shoes, bring lunch and snacks. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in so we can leave on time. Leader: Henry Matznick 609-868-8714.
