Get your week off to a good start with two hours of guided walking in attractive surroundings with pleasant company. The focus is very much on getting to know your fellow walkers, fresh air and gentle exercise. Exercise, socialising and learning are three out of the five steps to mental wellbeing. On these Discover Bristol sessions Steve shares his extensive research on the wildlife, history, geography and geology of the city. There is also plenty of time to chat about random stuff that comes up along the way. The village of Winterbourne is just north of the M4, but it feels really countrysidish. There is loads of history stuff, including a medieval barn that we will go check out. In the valley of the River Frome there are plenty of wooded pathways for us to explore and an Iron Age Hillfort. There is even a Mad Hatter! Our walk will be about two and a half miles. You will need walking boots for this one. As is our custom historical research notes will be sent out to participants after the event. These will allow you to hold onto what you have learned from our tour of Winterbourne on the edge of Bristol. If you would like to lift share from Bristol or Bath then please use the comment board below to make the arrangements.
