Los Angeles Vinyl Hunting 101: Finding Hidden Gems

If you have been wanting to start a vinyl collection but feel overwhelmed by the rows of bins at local record shops, this meetup is for you. We are getting together to demystify the process of digging for records. We will walk through how to flip through crates efficiently, what to look for when inspecting the condition of a sleeve and vinyl, and how to spot pressings that might be worth taking home. It is a relaxed, low-pressure environment meant for those just starting out who want to learn the ropes alongside others.

We will meet at a local shop to put these tips into practice right away. The goal isn't to spend a fortune, but rather to learn how to identify hidden gems and enjoy the hunt without feeling like you need to be an expert. Whether you are looking for jazz, rock, soul, or something else entirely, you will have a few experienced diggers on hand to help you navigate the stacks.

If you have been meaning to get out there and start building your collection, I would love to see you there. Please go ahead and RSVP if you think you can make it so I can get a sense of the group size.
