12km hike along the Yarra River in Warrandyte, followed by lunch at the Stonehouse cafe (order off the menu).

This is our Christmas breakup event for the year. This event is popular and places are limited, so unfortunately no guests or tag alongs please.

By attending this event it is automatically assumed that YOU WILL BE ATTENDING lunch at the Stonehouse Cafe.

The walk starts and finishes in the suburb of Warrandyte (in the car park behind the Stonehouse Café) and goes along the Yarra River through the Warrandyte State Park, 20 km east of the Melbourne CBD.

The track passes through Jumping Creek Reserve and Blue Tongue Bend.
A visit to the hidden chapel a short distance from Blue Tongue Bend is a reminder of the former use of this area as a scout camp.
A gradual climb brings us to the entrance to Stan Brae, with vistas up the Yarra Valley to Mount Lofty.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH: 12:30 PM

Please do not RSVP to any Eastern Hiking & Adventure event unless you are fully committed to attending. It is your responsibility to check the date, distance, and difficulty of the walk before RSVPing. Members who frequently withdraw at the last minute, fail to show up, arrive without being on the "going" list, or behave disrespectfully towards leaders or fellow members will be asked to leave the walk and may be removed from the group. All leaders are unpaid volunteers who invest a great deal of their own time to plan and research each walk. Their efforts deserve respect and consideration. Organisers do their best to minimize waitlists where possible, and priority will be given to reliable members who attend regularly and contribute positively to the group experience.
