Hike the Southwest Austin Trails

Join us for a 4 mile hike at a moderate pace. Southwest Austin has over 50 miles of trails, used by mountain bikers and hikers. Some, like the Violet Crown Trail, are fairly broad, covered in gravel and sometimes pavement. This isn't one of those. I'm planning a hike through the woods, along narrow trails that cross creek beds or run along them. I've connected segments to make a four mile route this time, but we may extend this into a longer route sometime when the weather is cooler and the flowers are in bloom. There aren't any hills along this route, but there are some rather rocky trails at times, and we go through tunnels, underneath streets. So, be prepared with hiking boots and bring water. You can park in the 5900 block of Magee Bend, along the greenbelt. Participants will need to sign a Liability Waiver at the trailhead.
