You’ll use Bitcoin’s test network, so you can experiment without using real bitcoin. No prior coding or Bitcoin knowledge required. ​AGENDA: ​Keys, addresses, and ownership: What a Bitcoin wallet does, how addresses work, and how you prove you can spend your bitcoin. ​How transactions work: How Bitcoin tracks individual pieces of bitcoin rather than a bank-style account balance, and how those pieces get spent and combined. ​A transaction’s journey: What happens after you hit “send,” how computers on the network check your transaction, and where it waits before being included in a block. ​Blocks and mining: How transactions are grouped into blocks, what miners do, and how the network agrees on a shared transaction history. ​Bitcoin’s incentives and supply: Why miners earn rewards and fees, what a “halving” means, and how Bitcoin’s 21 million supply limit works. ​Hands-on practice: With step-by-step guidance, build, sign, and send a transaction on Bitcoin’s test network.
