Do you like to read but you have no time and focus to do it? Maybe this meetup may be good for you.
This event is dedicated to reading, so this ‘book club’ is a little different from the others, since we all read in company. The main purpose of the meetup is reading, so everyone will be free to read any book they want: novels, essays, manga, comics etc. So this IS NOT a discussion about a single book, it’s not that kind of meetup.
How does the meetup work?
We will read in the group, but each person will read their book by themselves.
I will set a timer of 40 minutes, in which we will read, then we will take a break of 10 minutes in which we can talk about what we have read, also recommend to the other members the book we have read, so it's a good chance to discover new readings and share your passion with other people. After 10 minutes, we will read for other 40 minutes and so on.
It is a very free and varied club, since you can read the book you want but still have a conversation. It can also be helpful to those people who don't find the time or the right context to read.
In this way, even a solitary activity such as reading can become more social.
A few things to keep in mind:
Community update: In the future, this group may move from Meetup to Luma. I'll share more information if and when that happens.
Waiting List Dynamics: If you're on the waiting list, you'll need to wait for someone to cancel their RSVP before a spot becomes available. I've only booked a table for 8 people, so unfortunately, I can't guarantee that everyone on the waiting list will be able to join. Meetup automatically moves the first person on the waiting list into the event when someone cancels, so please keep an eye on your RSVP status. Please only attend if your RSVP is confirmed. Being on the waiting list does not guarantee you a spot, even if someone doesn't show up. I won't be able to accommodate additional people without a confirmed reservation.
Language: The event is in English.
