This is one of my favorite hikes in Bucks County! And on this day, there is the biannual dam release where kayakers and adventure seekers come to ride the rapids.
We will start at the Tohickon Valley Park pool parking lot and head down towards the Tohickon Creek where we will pick up the orange trail. From here we will follow the creek heading towards Ralph Stover State Park. The trail will change to yellow and there will be several opportunities to enjoy the High Rocks Vista. We will take the white trail all the way down to the water and spend some time there to watch the kayakers! Afterwards we will take the same way back out for a total of about 5.5 miles with a 2-mph pace. This hike has a few hills to make us feel like we are hiking and can offer really nice views.
Some sections of the trail are steep and rocky- I suggest well broken in hiking boots with good ankle support.
A fully charged cell phone is a good idea, but service may be spotty.
I love dogs, but not on this hike.
Rain cancels. I’ll post here at least 2 hours before hike starts if cancelled.
Parking should not be a problem. Tohickon Valley Park at 132 Cafferty Rd., Pipersville, PA. (40.43809,-75.07646)
