Hobsonville and Greenhithe Ramble

Starting next to the Hobsonville Memorial Park we will have a quick tour over the motorway using the yellow walkway bridge before heading up the Greenhithe Bridge all the way to Constellation Drive. A nice uphill ride but worth the views. Will ride on cycleways and roads with cycleways. We will cross a major intersection using the pedestrian lights. On the return trip to to Hobsonville via Greenhithe we will take various roads and interesting tracks through Greenhithe, past the Pony Club and visiting the Greenhithe Wharf before stopping for lunch at the Collins Cafe and Bar. There is a short pathway a little bit narrow but if we spread out is doable. On a fine weather day at the Collins we can use the lovely outdoor seating area. The final run back down the Greenhithe Bridge will be exhilarating! Blowing out the final cobwebs lol... About 30km of riding and around 350m of elevation. (still learning to use Kamoot!!) I would rate this ride as a Beginner ride - Suitable for all types of bikes, riding on primarily designated cycle paths but may include crossing or riding on roads for short distances. Pace is slow. Some rider experience and ability recommended. As normal then: Please bring a spare tube for your particular bike wheel size. We travel at circa 20ks an hour except for down hills. We have a tail end Charlie to make sure riders do not get lost. We are not too fond of leaving people behind. Assistance will be rendered for any mechanical issues but we are not bike mechanics. Riders are encouraged to wear Hi Vis or visible colours at least If you are signed up for the ride but change your mind at the last minute please text or phone me on 021398226 to advise.
