Walk: Stoke Golding & Bosworth Field Rural and peaceful route in south west Leicestershire (not far from Atherstone) taking in a variety of landscapes and features. Logistics: Meet: 10:15 check-in, to start within 5-10 mins, or earlier if all visible are ready. Distance: Around 11 miles Start Pt: Sutton Wharf Canal Trust Picnic Site, Wharf Lane, nr Sutton Cheney, CV13 6JA Parking: Picnic site car park, please park tightly to allow space for cafe and other users. Nearest roadside parking on verges on Sutton Lane. Please stand/wait alongside the canal to avoid congregating amidst the car park itself. Terrain: Gently undulating, including woodland, towpath, farmland, pretty villages and pools. Earth View: Wharf Ln - Google Maps Road Map: Streetmap.co.uk - Map of 441083,299439 Refreshments: Picnic stop and mid way pub stop (not for full meals) and an optional pub at the end. Bring: Waterproofs & Refreshments & Good walking footwear, and clothing to match the weather. Guests: Under 16s & dogs (behaved, under control) may attend as guests. Emergency Contact: 078.137.37.623, though not available for travel advice or routine lateness problems. Today's walk leader is Paul W. Safety: As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety, and must be comfortable walking the specified distance please. RSVP Commitment: Places are not unlimited, so withdrawing in the last 24 hours is impolite. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals).
