Kennesaw Mountain - Little Kennesaw and Brumby Camp

Howdy everyone, fall is here and it’s finally good hiking weather!
Join us for a moderate hike at Kennesaw mountain!

Trail information
This is an intermediate / moderate hike of 5.3 miles with an elevation gain of 1,000 feet estimating to take about 2.5 hours. The beginning of the hike is the most strenuous portion which should only take about 40 minutes to the peak.

The remainder is mostly down hill.
Please be sure to bring shoes with sufficient tread / grip. The latter portion of the trail has some rocks / roots to be aware of.

This is a fairly popular hiking spot so anticipate for the ascent of the mountain a reasonable amount of people; the remainder will be much less populated.

The visitor center does have bathrooms, water fountains, and snacks / beverages for purchase. Please bring water!

Parking
I suggest parking in the overflow lot unless you’d like to try your luck outside of the visitor center.
It is about a 10 minute walk from the overflow parking area to the visitor center.

Parking Passes
Parking for Kennesaw mountain is $5.00 a day, or $40.00 for a yearly pass. You can scan the QR code in each parking lot to pay from your phone. I believe there is a physical machine you may purchase tickets from. Everything is cashless.

History / Visitor Center
If you’re interested in the history of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield the visitor center has a small museum exhibiting the history. It takes roughly 20-30 minutes to look through if you’re thorough.

Food afterwards
Afterwards if people would like to grab lunch, there is a very tasty taco place about 10 minutes down the road I will be planning to visit.
