Venue: Network Eagle Lab, Portland Terrace, Southampton, SO14 7SJ 📢 Want to speak 📢: submit your talk proposal Main Talks 1️⃣ Mapping the PyData Community with Python and Web Scraping - Hugh Evans In this talk I'll be walking through my project building maps of the PyData community using data scraped from Meetup. Featuring insights into the PyData community, geo-encoding, map making with Folium, and a call to support your local PyData group. 2️⃣ City Dreams - Can GenAI go beyond slop? - Damian Bemben Damian will be walking through the build, development and user feedback from his British science Festival installation: City Dreams Describe the Southampton you wish to see and your vision will be realised. Local artist Damian Bemben has created an installation that harnesses generative artificial intelligence to build collective worlds across cultures. Combining voice recognition, 3D capture and AI techniques, this installation offers you the opportunity to speak your wish for Southampton City Centre and watch it appear. Whether it’s a bustling street, a community space, a gothic garden or something else entirely, you can shape your urban space and decide what your city looks like.
