njoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer.
Tonight’s performance features Japanese-born jazz pianist Miki Yamanaka. Now based in New York, Yamanaka has gained international recognition from her albums and as a bandleader in the city’s jazz scene, with residencies at Mezzrow and Smalls Jazz Club in the West Village. She is joined by bassist Matt Penman and drummer Jimmy Macbride, who also performed on her most recent album, Breathe, released in August.
This program is presented in partnership with the Philadelphia Asian American Film Foundation (PAAFF) during their annual festival, running November 5–15.
Performances at 6:30pm and 7:45pm.
First Friday is a social event with limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Standing may be required during performances.
Tickets include access to the Barnes collection and Noguchi to Asawa: Designing Postwar America.
Cocktails and light fare are available for purchase. In the mood for something heartier? The Garden Restaurant is open for dinner during First Friday. Make a reservation between 6 and 8pm.
