Tacitus' Annals, Books 12-14

Our October meeting will find us perusing the annals of Roman history, quite literally, in Tacitus' Annals. We will be reading a short selection from the text, covering books 12-14. Tacitus was a Roman senator who lived in the latter half of the first century, AD. He was a prolific historian, with the Annals being his final work and magnum opus. Our selection discusses the death of Emperor Claudius and the rise of his infamous successor, Nero. As usual, we will meet in the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in the 205-B Accessibility Room, located on the second floor.
