
Lecture: From Medieval Dublin to Marino.
Lecturer Mark Crowther will examine how the city spread northwards from it's medieval core, leading to the construction of the garden city of Marino He'll show the original shape of Dublin Bay, the restrictions this placed on maritime access to the city, how the size and shape of the bay was gradually reduced through the construction of the city quays and how the reclaimed land was used firstly for agriculture and later for housing construction.
