From Park Avenue salons to legendary parties, it's time to hit the streets and uncover the remarkable story of their friendship in the neighborhood that shaped their lives and legacies. Join New York Adventure Club as we weave through Manhattan's Upper East Side to explore the intertwined lives of Andy Warhol and Truman Capote; two cultural icons whose friendship placed them at the center of New York's artistic and social worlds. Led by NYC licensed guide Rosemary Shmavonian, our unique experience will include: A visit to Truman Capote's former Upper East Side residence, where he lived while finishing high school and beginning work on Other Voices, Other Rooms A look at Andy Warhol's early Manhattan life, including the townhouse he shared with his mother and the neighborhood where his artistic career began to take shape An exploration of Warhol's relationship with religion, featuring the church he regularly attended during his years on the Upper East Side A walk through the glamorous world of New York's Swans and Superstars, including locations connected to figures such as Slim Keith and Edie Sedgwick A stop outside the famed Breakfast at Tiffany's townhouse, and a discussion of the Upper East Side social scene that inspired some of Capote's most celebrated work A discussion of Truman Capote's legendary Black and White Ball, the Plaza Hotel gala often called the "Party of the Century," attended by Andy Warhol and many of the era's most influential cultural figures See you there!
