Vietnamese cuisine is celebrated for its balance of five fundamental tastes (sweet, salty, bitter, sour, and spicy) and its reliance on fresh, vibrant herbs. Meals emphasize natural flavors, health, and texture contrast, relying heavily on broths, rice, and fish sauce (nước mắm) rather than heavy dairy or oils. We’re happy to bring you four tantalizing dishes each with different textures and harmonious flavors, representing the quintessential tastes of Vietnamese regional cuisine, for the 3rd October Meetup lunch, 12 noon to 2 pm. Chicken Pho / Phở Gà Hearty chicken goodness, simmering to perfection The comforting Vietnamese noodle soup is made with rich and deeply savory chicken broth infused with charred ginger, onions, and toasted spices like star anise and cinnamon. Served with soft flat rice noodles and tender shredded chicken, it is customized with fresh herbs and lime wedges. Vietnamese Braised Fish / Cá Kho Tộ A Symphony of Caramel, Fish Sauce, and Heat in Every Bite This iconic South Vietnamese dish features catfish steaks simmered in a rich, sweet, and savory sauce made of fish sauce, sugar, caramelized aromatics, and coconut water. The dish is traditionally slow-cooked in a clay pot until the sauce reduces into a thick, glossy glaze. Banana Flower Salad / Nộm Hoa Chuối Light, Vibrant, and Refreshing A refreshing dish made from thinly sliced banana blossoms mixed with herbs and roasted peanuts, all tossed in a tangy and savory dressing. Fresh Spring Rolls / Gỏi Cuốn Wrapped in tradition, bursting with freshness These fresh spring roll use fresh rice paper sheets as the base. The filling inside includes boiled pork belly, prawns, coral lettuce, rice vermicelli noodles, mint, spring onion, thai basil and coriander and serve with freshly made peanut hoisin sauce. Egg Coffee / Cà Phê Trứng (Complimentary) A traditional Vietnamese coffee beverage made with egg yolks, sugar, condensed milk, and Robusta coffee. The price per pax is ฿350.
