Thanks to all who came out for a great discussion on Education and literacy. It was great to see so many new faces. We are going to be continue our discussion on technology through the lens of Heidegger. For Heidegger, philosophy is metaphysics. When the focus of knowledge turns away from Being to the objective; when increasingly we are squeezed into a technological medium of power, Heidegger says that this is the end of philosophy. So, what can be done?

We will be reading "The End of Philosophy and the Task of Thinking" (1969) by Martin Heidegger. The lecture was given by Heidegger at Freiburg in 1964 and published five years later. It reflects his mature philosophical thought after decades of refinement. Please join us!

The essay appears in the Basic Writings of Heidegger Anthology on sale 45% off at Amazon presently for $11.
