When you’re in a career transition, connecting with family and friends can be harder than it sounds. You may not know what to tell people, worry about how they see your situation, or simply feel uncomfortable asking for help. The people around you may already know your strengths, how you work, and the contributions you’ve made. They may see things you have trouble seeing or explaining during a job search. But knowing someone can help and knowing how to let them help are two different things.
In this session, presenter Dustin DeBoer of The 318 Way and host Molly Dueber will explore the personal roadblocks that can make these conversations difficult. We’ll look at how relationships can help you recognize your strengths, communicate your value, and connect with people who may be able to help.
We’ll also make it practical. You’ll explore who can genuinely speak to your capabilities, what experiences you want them to remember, and how to give them enough context to make a useful recommendation or introduction without putting words in their mouth.
Come with the relationships you already have and leave with a better way to think about asking for help.
We will be IN PERSON at the Plymouth Library. We'll have time for introductions and networking. Come and meet your fellow members in person!
Space is limited – RSVP today!
