Join us for a 5-mile moderately paced walk in two of the city's beautiful northern parks.
Meet:
10:45 a.m. at the entrance to Inwood Hill Park at Isham St. and Seaman Ave. (A train to 207th St. or 1 train to 215th St.). Use the restrooms inside the park. We’ll leave at 11 a.m.
Walk:
We’ll walk through Inwood Hill park, enjoying expansive views of the Palisades across the Hudson, then climb up into the spectacular Fort Tryon Park. We can pause for a quick bite while we enjoy the views, then proceed south out of the park onto Cabrini Blvd.
As long as we’re up that way, we want to get an early look at the new pedestrian-only path on the George Washington Bridge, so we’ll walk halfway across and back before ending the walk in the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal, where we can get the A train. There is also a 1 train at 181st St. and St. Nicholas Ave.
We'll be on paved surfaces for the whole walk but there are hills and stairs.
Bring:
Sun protection as needed, snacks, and water.
Contact:
Hike leaders: Brigitte (text to 646-651-3911) and Laura (text to 917-658-6779).
