Following a lively and engaging first Socrates Café Dublin, we’re delighted to invite you to our second gathering.

Our first Café brought together 15 people for a wonderfully interactive conversation around the question “Is there justice in the world today?” Many interesting ideas and questions emerged, and this time we’d like to pick up on some of those threads and take our enquiry a little further.
For our second conversation, we’ll ask:
Can there be justice in the world without courage?

What is the relationship between justice and courage? Is it enough to recognise what is just, or does justice depend on people having the courage to act? And what do we really mean by courage in the first place?

As always, the aim is not to debate to win or to arrive at a single right answer. We’ll explore the question together – examining our assumptions, listening to different perspectives and seeing where the conversation leads us.

You don’t need to have attended our first Café to join in. Our gatherings are informal and open to everyone – no knowledge of Socrates or philosophy is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to explore ideas together.

We’ll be meeting upstairs in The Loft at Fumbally Stables – a relaxed and intimate space for conversation.

The event is hosted by members of the Foundation for Platonic Studies.
Donation: €5 per session, including tea/coffee.
