An exploration of how acids and tannins are perceived in the taste of wine. For those in Edinburgh, if not further afield, the name of Fraser Meadows, and his wine shop, Great Grog, will be well known. Fraser is coming to talk to us, tonight, about how we perceive acid and tannin in wine, and how the two interact with each other. We can all tell that a wine without either lacks a lot, but we will learn, tonight, what it is about each that makes it essential to the wine tasting and drinking experience. Fraser will guide us through a range of wines from Great Grog to explain the interplay of these elements within a wine, and how they influence our appreciation of any wine. While there may not be a cohesive theme in terms of grape variety or geography, this is going to be a very interesting evening. We shall learn a lot about the human palate, and how it varies between us. Come along and become informed on this fascinating subject!
