Working on a screenplay for a comedy short film

We have chosen an idea we want to work on, so think of this as a writer's room. Bring your creativity, humour, and openess to this session while we work on our idea for a mockumentary! (if you have plant knowledge that's a bonus.)

A Note on Inclusivity & Land Acknowledgement

Film For Fun is a welcoming space for people from all walks of life, regardless of age, background, experience, or skill level. Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or just curious about making your first film, you belong here!

As we gather in downtown Victoria, we acknowledge with respect that we are on the traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Peoples, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. We recognize their enduring connection to these lands and waters, and the ongoing presence, knowledge, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.

We hope to foster a creative community built on kindness, curiosity, collaboration, and respect, where everyone feels welcome to learn, experiment, share ideas, and have fun making films together.
