We've been to Staunton State Park Eagle's View Overlook but not via the Old Mill and Mason Creek route.

We'll hike an out and back for 5 miles and 1000+ feet of elevation gain. Eagle Cliffs Overlook via Old Mill and Mason Creek Trail on AllTrails
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/eagle-cliffs-overlook-via-old-mill-and-mason-creek-trail-2?sh=0fyj7s&utmmedium=trailshare&utmsource=alltrailsvirality

We'll start from the Lazy V Trailhead to Old Mill and Mason Creek Trail to the Eagle Cliffs Overlook. Plan on a steady climb to the peak! Trail includes walking in the pines creekside, through meadows and a variety of forests, maybe a little rock scrambling, some old buildings and great photo opportunities.

Dog Free Hikes...Please leave your baby dogs at home for Baby Boomer hikes.

Meet the group at the Lazy V parking lot (drive to the top parking lot).

What to bring... Colorado weather changes quickly! Please come prepared with appropriate hiking clothing, waterproof boots, hiking poles, microspikes, backpack and snacks, and water. Make sure you have in your pack in case you need it - rain gear, hat, gloves, extra socks, and extra layers, etc. Make it the best experience possible by being prepared!

Carpooling: Arrange carpools from your neighborhood or choose a good meeting place to carpool.

Direction to Staunton State Park: Drive US Highway 285 south to Shaffers Crossing, about 6 miles west of Conifer. Turn north on Elk Creek Road and follow the signs 1.5 miles to the park entrance. There is a day use fee per car or use your Keep Colorado Wild Pass. Once inside the park, continue to the Lazy V parking lot. Bathrooms located at the trailhead.

Bring a lunch and snacks to enjoy at the summit.

See you there!
