🄾 RUMBLE AT THE FORT Meeting (& end) point: As shown in the event image Beside the Old Hill Street Police Station and opposite Funan Nearest MRT: Clarke Quay MRT, Exit E — approximately 3 minutes’ walk The meeting point is also accessible via several MRT lines and nearby bus stops. Duration: 90 minutes Group size: Maximum 20 participants Training level: Progressively scaled, but best suited to those who are ready to train with purpose—especially hikers preparing for Adventures Unlimited trips. WHAT IS RUMBLE? Rumble at the Fort is an outdoor, hike-specific strength and conditioning programme created to help hikers, walkers and active adults prepare for the physical demands of the trail. Since the first Rumble in August 2023, the programme has evolved through three years of coaching, experimentation and participant feedback. What began as a weekly outdoor fitness session is becoming a more structured training system with clearer progression, supporting homework and a digital Rumble Hiking Passport for participants to track their own development. This is not a random bootcamp or a race against the person beside you. The aim is simple: Don’t just exercise. Train for what you want your body to be able to do. WHAT WE TRAIN 🦶 ANKLE ENGINE Calf and ankle strength, control and endurance for everyday walking, stairs and repeated hiking push-off. ā¤ļø RUMBLE ENGINE Our signature 8-minute stair-climbing station to develop sustainable cardiovascular capacity for longer climbs. ā›°ļø HILL POWER Progressively scaled movements to build strength, coordination and drive for slopes, stairs and bigger steps. āš–ļø TRAIL BALANCE Drills to build single-leg stability and strength 🦵 BRAKES Controlled step-down variations to build lower-body strength and control for descents. Going uphill requires an engine. Going downhill requires brakes. šŸ“ˆ REFLECT & TRACK Participants record selected scores, effort levels and reflections using the Rumble Hiking Passport. Progress may mean: completing more quality repetitions or laps using better control feeling more confident performing the same work at a lower effort progressing to a more challenging variation when ready The comparison is always you versus your previous you. REGISTRATION & PLACES Rumble is capped at 20 participants so the group remains safe, manageable and meaningfully coached. 15 priority places Reserved for: Adventures Unlimited Elite Members Paid and confirmed AU trip participants Eligible priority participants continue to receive Rumble access as part of the applicable Adventures Unlimited training benefits. 5 public places Available to members of the public. A small programme contribution $5 is required to confirm a public place. Please RSVP only if you genuinely intend to attend. We often have a waitlist, so early updates allow someone else to take the place. WHAT TO BRING Comfortable sports attire Appropriate training shoes An arm-length towel Water bottle A suitable backpack Most participants will carry their bags during parts of the session as part of hike preparation. Please bring a backpack rather than a sling bag, and ensure that it is secure enough for brisk movement. Loaded work can be modified, and carrying a bag is not compulsory if it is unsuitable for you that day. Please arrive at least 5 minutes early. We will start on time. WEATHER & SAFETY Outdoor programming may be adjusted according to heat, rain, slippery surfaces and ground conditions. If there is heavy rain or unsafe weather, the session may be cancelled. If there is only a light drizzle, we may proceed cautiously or move to the Adventures Unlimited office for a Signature Indoor Workout, where feasible. Safety takes priority over completing the planned programme. Please inform Ulrica if you have an injury, medical condition or other concern relevant to safe participation. CANCELLATIONS & LATE ARRIVALS If you are unable to attend or expect to be late, please: update your RSVP by 8pm the night before, or WhatsApp Ulrica at +6597318648 This gives us time to offer the place to someone on the waitlist.
