SUN 18 - HIKE - Gorgeous descent of the Manzanares river - By public bus

THE HIKE Fantastic (and off the beaten path for the most part) hike from the birth of the Manzanares river, in Bola del Mundo peak (Puerto de Navacerrada) all the way to Manzanares el Real town along a beautiful array of secluded crystal clear natural pools, little waterfalls and VERY few people! It's a medium level hike but it's all downhill (except for the first hour), so not lung strenous! A full day out, not only because of the distance, but because we'll be stopping frequently due to the many beautiful rock pool spots to take a pic. Come prepared for a full day out there! It's a LONG hike, with a first uphill part, from Puerto de Navacerrada to the peak of Bola del Mundo (aprox 1h). Then downhill the rest of the way. Terrain is easy. Make sure you're the latest 8:45 to secure a spot on the bus. It's the 9:00 am 691 bus from underground of the Intercambiador de Moncloa. Nivel 1 - Isla 2 Dársena 21. The stop to get off is Puerto de Navacerrada (remember, PUERTO de Navacerrada, NOT Navacerrada town!) IMPORTANT NOTE! Every week someone misses the hike because they get to the bus too late. Plan to be there at least 15 minutes before the bus departure time and allow plenty of time, remember metros run a lot less frequently on weekend mornings and sometimes the bus stations can be a bit difficult to navigate! WHAT TO BRING Comfy clothing, in layers (keep in mind it's high mountain and early morning, it will be chilly!)
