Understanding Court Cards Through Alchemy

Court Cards & Alchemic Elements

Many of us struggle to interpret messages from the Court Cards (Kings, Queens, Knights, and Pages). Some might say these enigmatic cards are the most difficult to read because their numerous potential interpretations can lead to confusion.

One approach to help understand Court Cards that is easy to remember is through exploring the associations with their assigned fundamental elements of alchemy: fire, water, air, and earth. Elemental links to the Tarot were proposed in the 19th century by associates of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and have become widely integrated by tarot readers globally.
