Inner West Speakers Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide nonprofit organisation that helps people from all walks of life become more effective and confident speakers. This meeting is perfect for you if: You get nervous speaking in front of groups (or even the thought of it!). You want to structure your thoughts more clearly and persuasively. You need to give better presentations at work. You want to practice thinking on your feet. You're looking to meet new, ambitious, and friendly people. 🤔 What to Expect at a Meeting: Our meetings are fun, structured, and educational. Here’s a typical agenda: 1. Welcome & Introductions: A warm welcome from our Toastmaster of the Day. 2. Prepared Speeches: 2-3 members deliver speeches from the Toastmasters Pathways learning program. These are crafted, rehearsed, and focused on specific objectives. 3. Table Topics® Impromptu Speaking: This is the most exciting part! Volunteers (including guests, only if they want to!) get to practice thinking on their feet by answering a random question in 1-2 minutes. It's a blast and great practice! 4. Constructive Evaluation: Every speaker receives thoughtful, positive feedback from an assigned evaluator. This is where the real learning happens! 5. Awards & Closing: We recognise the best speakers and evaluators and wrap up the meeting. As our guest, you can: Just watch and learn. There is zero pressure to participate.
