FIRE 2026 Year in Review, 2027 Planning

With 2026 coming to an end, let's have a "year in review" discussion about our Financial Independence Retire Early journeys. We will share what went well for each of us this past year and celebrate our victories. There will also be an opportunity for anyone who wants to ask the group for advice or share challenges they're still facing. And finally a chance to share goals for 2027. People who are new to FIRE and don't have much to share are still welcome!

Also on the agenda: group planning for 2027. Bring your ideas for future discussion topics and the types of events you'd like to attend. We'd love to have even more people involved next year in shaping the direction of the Meetup. Our community is growing quickly so there is plenty of opportunity to branch out and find ways to connect with others.

Possibilities might include volunteering to present a case study of your finances, planning or hosting events of all kinds, sharing FIRE-related knowledge or skills with the group, leading a book club discussion, finding guest speakers, etc. Maybe someone is interested in hosting happy hours in another part of town or wants to get a daytime pickleball game going? Maybe someone wants to start and moderate a Discord group? If you have ideas but aren't able to attend in December, please add them to the discussion page and/or send us a message. Or jump in and get involved anytime throughout the year as ideas come to you!

Finally, we just paid up the $300 yearly organizer Meetup.com fees to keep the group going. We activated the donate/pledge button if anyone would like to help offset this expense. Or you can ask Nate for his venmo number if you'd like to send something directly. But no pressure! No spending is expected to be part of this community.
