Here she describes the "fat, relentless ego" that blocks us from seeing clearly the reality of the Other as a moral agent - and calls for an "unselfing" that's based in Simone Weil's concept of décreation. We read both long & short texts, but you don't need to join at the very start of our longer reads - you can come along at any stage of the journey.
