Hope -"lost and found" between pessimism and optimism
There are so many jokes about pessimism and optimism, coloured with realism. Still many people say that "the hope dies last" and maybe lots of religions are based on peoples "hope".

Lets take it from philosophic perspective:

1. Is hope a form of strength, or can it sometimes prevent us from accepting reality?
2. What is the difference between optimism, pessimism and realism — and which of them helps us live better?
3. People say that “hope dies last”. But can there be situations where letting go of hope is actually healthy or necessary?
4. Do we need hope in order to continue living meaningfully, or can a person live well without expecting things to improve, but instead take another path?
5. Is hope something we discover, something we create, or something other people give us?
6. Can too much optimism make us naive, while too much pessimism makes us passive? Where is the healthy balance?
7. Many religions offer hope of salvation, justice, reunion, or life after death. Would religion have the same power without hope or if people would self-manage hope instead of leaving it over to others/religion?
8. When life repeatedly disappoints us, what makes some people find hope again while others lose it and attach to self-trauma and pittyness?
9. Is it possible to remain hopeful while fully accepting that some things may never turn out the way we want?
10. Which is more important in difficult times: believing that things will get better, or believing that you will be able to cope even if they do not?

Practical Philosophy is a weekly meet-up that brings critical thinkers together for an opportunity to dive deep on a topic, practice communicating, and building a community. All with no ‘official’ philosophy knowledge required! 😎

Practical Philosophy is based on the idea that philosophy should be accessible to all, and not something reserved only for academics. Each week we choose a topic, and the goal is to use the conversation to develop our critical thinking and communication as we explore that topic.
The goal is to help develop our Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community 🙌

📓 HOW DOES IT WORK?
Each week, we pick one topic and discuss it. The topic for the week is shared, generally in the Whatsapp groups,

along with jump-off points to get the conversation going.
When groups get bigger than 7-8 people, it’s important that we break into smaller groups. This way we are able to maintain a conversational flow as opposed to having our meetups feel like a discourse or lecture.
