Moving to Türkiye and working here can come with a whole set of experiences that are difficult to explain to someone who hasn’t been through them. The paperwork. The immigration office. The unspoken rules at work. The moments when someone goes out of their way to help you. The moments when you have absolutely no idea what is going on. 😅 And then there are the differences you only notice after you actually start working here. For our next Teachers’ Table, hosted by Sarvy, we’re opening up the conversation about what it’s really like to work in Türkiye; especially when your workplace brings together Turkish and foreign teachers. We’ll talk about things like: 🇹🇷 Have you ever been to the immigration office in Türkiye? 🤝 How has the Turkish community helped you at work? 🌍 What were your biggest culture shocks in the Turkish working environment? 💬 What is communication like between Turkish and foreign colleagues? 👩‍🏫 And if you’re Turkish, what has it been like working alongside foreigners in your department? There won't be a right answer to any of these questions but the shared experiences in our meet up might only make us realise that the same workplace can feel completely different depending on where you come from.
