Join me for the Last DW Walk to Celebrate Our Many Adventures Together, for some of you, from 2021.. Bo was with me from day one of DW and long before in the launch of my previous group, always walking faithfully by my side..
I do miss her..
👩🦯🐕👨🦯🦮
Due to the expense of Meetup Organiser Subscriptions and a drop in Renewals, it's time to find a new free platform to organise the walks..
There will be a change of the group identity and logo rename for a fresh start..
I kindly ask not to use DW as a logo in any potential groups, it has a special place in my heart from our DW Launch in 2021, I remember myself and my old friend Willis after much thought decided on calling the group 'The Derbyshire Walkers..'
I will take a break from the group until I am ready to relaunch, I will be in touch with a decision soon..
We'll Celebrate🎉 Our Last Walk with my much loved walk, Tansley to Lumsdale 7 miles
with a drink at the Gate Inn🍻
This varied walk goes along Riverside paths and Waterfalls through Woodland Pastures and Villages.
Our walk starts in the characterful Village of Tansley, after walking through the village, our path goes along pastures and heads for the Village of Riber and Riber Castle, the views are spectacular from the hill tops.
Our route heads down to Matlock along High Tor, the views below are stunning from the hilltop.
Leaving Matlock, we soon join the path up through the beautiful wooded gorge of the Lumsdale Valley.
It follows Bentley Brook through woodland to the lovely Lumsdale Falls, as the path goes through the gorge, it passes beautiful rocky waterfalls and ponds.
Leaving this magical place, our path joins the track back up to Tansley where we started my much loved walk..
This is a fairly easy going walk but will probably be muddy in places..
Walking boots are strongly advised, as always check the weather and dress accordingly, warm layers essential..
Bring a packed lunch and enough snacks and 🍾water 🍾 to keep you going..
Catching up points and plenty of breaks along the way as always
Look forward to sharing our last DW adventure with you..
