GO: Ceroc Dancing (classes and freestyle). Welcome to the wonderful world of Modern Jive, and in particular on Thursdays when we join Ceroc Walsall for an evening of socializing, rhythm, music, and fun! Most people arrive alone, as you get to rotate dance partners effortlessly anyway, though feel free to bring friends and/or partner if you wish. Key Information Venue: Aldridge Community Centre Address: Middlemore Lane, Aldridge, WS9 8AN Time: 19:30 to 22:30 (or often later) Map: Streetmap.co.uk - Map of ws9 8an Satellite: Aldridge, England - Google Maps Parking: At the venue, or short walk from Aldridge buses. Suitability: For both new and regular Modern Jive dancers Attire: Casual, comfortable for dancing. Some people bring special dance shoes, but any footwear that slides (not trainers) works well. Cost: £10 for two lessons and freestyle dance session (or £30 for six evenings), pay on entry. Refreshments: The venue has a bar (own drinks not permitted) Organizer: Ceroc West Midlands Hosting/Welcoming: Collective amongst those attending. Format Evening format: There are regular classes on Thursday nights, and we currently we hold a meetup every 2 or 4 weeks. Itinerary as follows: (a) 19:45-20:00: 'Fundamentals' for our newer members (b) 20:00-21:00: this then leads into the beginner's class followed by some freestyle/practice time. (c) 21:00-21:30: Intermediate class for our improvers and a practice session of basic moves just taught for our newer members (d) 21:40-22:30 or later: Freestyle through till our lights up track Learn to Dance at Ceroc Walsall - Aldridge Community Centre Finding The Group We mingle and dance with other dancers, as well as with other group members. Attendee may find each other at the bar at the start. Bringing a sycamore leaf If anyone attending is new (or uncertain of finding others) then our simple suggestion is to bring a sycamore leaf. They're entirely disposable and it's actually fun looking out for those waving a leaf! OR: Be a Group Welcomer If you can arrive at the outset, you'll be appreciated if you volunteer to greet other GO members. Just ask. Up to 5 attendees can be co-hosts.
