\(Last minute event, if not many people sign up by Saturday, I’ll just cancel the event. If the event page is still up Sunday, I plan to go)

At a glance:

📍 Meeting Location: Meet at the food trucks area at Leo J. Ryan Park (650 Shell Blvd, Foster City, CA 94404)

📅 Date: Sunday October 4th, 2026
🕕 Time: ~6:00pm for dinner (not really a strict time to meet since we'll be somewhere at the park)
🏮 Lantern launch: Approximately 8:00pm

🅿️ Parking: Parking is available in and around Leo J. Ryan Park.

Cost: There wasn’t an actual entrance last time I went, so essentially free, unless you want to pay $36.99 for the materials to make a lantern (not worth it in my opinion). I plan to just watch and eat dinner there. Or we can all chip in and buy one lantern and decorate it together.

What to bring:
🧺 Picnic blanket or something to sit on
🧥 A jacket or layers for later in the evening
🍽️ Your own dinner if you don't want to buy food from the food trucks

Hi everyone,

Let’s hangout at the Water Lantern Festival this Sunday at Leo J. Ryan Park in Foster City.

This will be a casual park hangout rather than a structured festival activity. We’ll meet around 6:00pm, grab some dinner from the food trucks, find a spot on the grass and hangout and have dinner together. Then we’ll watch the lantern launch once it gets dark around 8:00pm

They didn’t have an actual entrance or gated area last time I went, so people were able to just walk in for free. But if you’d like to participate in the lantern making, you can purchase a ticket here (again it’s OPTIONAL and NOT needed to attend the event).

Since it’s last minute, if there aren’t too many people signed up by Saturday, I’ll just cancel it. So look out for any emails/event notice updates

Hope to see you all there!
