Let's Lift the Curfew 2026: join us for a special session
Tonight we're joining forces with This Girl Can and their Let's Lift the Curfew campaign.
When the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, millions of women across the UK will once again see their world get smaller as the nights get darker.
Safety concerns affect where they go, when they go, who they go with and
whether they can be active outdoors at all.
Whether shaped by past experiences, stories they've heard, or not feeling comfortable or confident in a particular place after dark, many women are unable to be active outdoors or use public spaces in the same way that men do.
In fact, nearly three-quarters (72%) of women in the UK change their outdoor
activity routines during winter. Let's Lift the Curfew challenges this reality to ensure no woman has to change where, when or how she gets active because of safety concerns.
You can read about, and complete, GoodGym's own training on this issue here. (https://www.goodgym.org/v3/stories/women-night-safety)
We’ll be teaming up with Canal & River Trust to help keep the tow paths tidy and litter free. We will meet Rich from Canal and River Trust at Belgrave Lock.
A few tips-
There is plenty of on-street parking on Charles Bennion Walk and surrounding area.

No running required for this task, we meet at the task to give the task the time it needs. We do encourage people to walk, run or cycle if possible.
