Please park in the lay-by along Elder Road, or on the roadside. There is also a car park off of Manor Road. Turn right off Elder Road.
One of the most popular scenic walks that is led during the Festival, it incorporates the ancient village of Bere Regis with links to Kings John, Henry III and Edward I.
The village and nearby Woodbury Hill feature in many of Hardys novels and the church is where Tess of the d'Urbervilles found the relics of her supposed Ancestors.
A delightful 2.5 hrs walk through woodland, heath, river meadows and rolling farmland, not to be missed.
Mainly on level open terrain, the walk has two steady climbs but is mainly on good paths.
Going to Hardys Dorset? Ask me anything about it.
I read the organiser's pages and answer in a few seconds.
