Stephens House & Gardens is one of Finchley’s real treasures — a Grade II listed historic house surrounded by 10 acres of beautiful gardens, managed by the Avenue House Estate Trust for the benefit of the community. Volunteers are hugely important in helping the Trust care for the estate and keep this wonderful green space available for everyone. GoodGym Barnet regularly lends a hand alongside volunteers including Helen, Alison and Warwick.

We’ll meet at The Phoenix Cinema for a short run to Stephens House & Gardens, or you can meet us directly at the venue:

We often get involved in a variety of practical tasks around the house and gardens, depending on what needs doing that week — gardening, clearing, tidying and general maintenance.

Please bring gardening gloves if you have them.

If meeting us at Stephens House, please arrive in good time. Once we have gone inside, the house may be locked and it could be difficult to let late arrivals in.

Those joining us at the Phoenix will get around 3–4km of running in total, and we’ll also try to fit in a few exercises if time allows.

Walkers and runners welcome — come along, get active and help look after one of Finchley’s loveliest community spaces.
