Horsenden Farm: volunteering 🫶 + animals 🐮 + pizza 🍕 + craft beer 🍺 💚 Green task 💚

The Friends of Horsenden Hill (https://www.horsenden.co.uk) host regular sessions at Horsenden Farm with a range of conservation, gardening, veg growing, and site maintenance tasks.

No prior experience needed - all the instructions and tools will be provided!

At 12pm you can join us for team lunch and buy freshly brewed draft beer at the on-site nano brewery, coffee and pizzas baked in the clay oven or other sweet and savoury treats from the bakery! If pizza is not your thing, that's ok too - feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks. There is free tea for the volunteers at the volunteer centre.

✔️ What is the task?

Gardening can be unpredictable. Depending on the weather, the tasks may include:

building enclosures for goats and pigs

trimming hedges

moving compost or manure

rolling sheds down the hill

tidying up the driveways

woodchipping the paths

and many more!

🕑 When?

First Saturday of the month at 10:00 am

The GoodGym session is between 10:00am – 12:00 pm but the volunteers can stay until 2:00 pm

🧤 What to bring?

Gardening gloves, if you have them.

Sometimes the task includes dealing with plants with thorns, so an extra layer to protect your arms and legs is useful.

🚻 Facilities

Toilet facilities and parking are available on-site.

The bakery, coffee shop, and brewery are open on Saturdays.
