Rockford Common and the local lakes

Rockford Common is in a lovely area of the New Forest and is comprised of open heathland and woodland. The area is rich in wildlife and is an SSSI.

The lakes are what remain of extensive gravel exptracion and are now used for fishing, sailing and the very popular Blashford Lakes Nature reserve (where otters and the White Tailed Eagle have been seen recently)

This walk has quite a few diffenernt terrains and could be muddy after heavy rain.

Parking is in the National Trust car park and is free.
