A Feminist, FLINTA-Centred & LGBTQ+ Dance Space

Sanura is a FLINTA-centred salsa & bachata space created for people who don’t always feel comfortable in traditional dance environments.

If you’ve ever felt out of place in mainstream dance scenes — because of rigid gender roles, expectations, or atmosphere — you might find your space with us.

Our classes centre community, inclusivity, and empowerment, while still giving you the tools to become a confident social dancer.

Everyone learns both leading and following, and we encourage curiosity, experimentation, and mutual support on the dance floor.

Confidence is something we build from day one. Our approach focuses on empowerment — helping everyone feel capable, welcome, and ready to dance.

🌱 Beginner Level — with Evelina

Complete beginners welcome on Week 1, no experience needed. Across the 12 weeks we build up steadily:

Bachata timing and body movement
Basic steps and partner connection
Leading and following
Turns

All at a pace that keeps everyone comfortable and confident.

Already danced Bachata a bit? If you've got roughly 4 weeks of prior dance experience, you don't need to start from week 1, week 5 is a natural point to jump in.

We encourage dancers to start exploring social dancing from the very beginning. Sanura hosts monthly social dance events, giving everyone a friendly space to practise and connect, no matter their level.

🔥 Improver Level — with Gaby

This level is for dancers who already feel comfortable with bachata fundamentals in both roles, whether from:

A previous Sanura course
One of our earlier 12-week course
Or learning elsewhere

From there we build on timing, connection, and musicality, working towards smoother, more confident social dancing.

As everyone at Sanura learns both roles, it's worth having at least a little practice in your second role too, even if it's not your strongest. If you're only confident in one, the Beginner level, or joining from week 5, could be a comfortable place to start instead.

✨ A Bright Studio Space for Dancing

Classes take place in a luminous and spacious studios: GHappy Feet.

The room has a smooth floor suitable for dancing shoes, giving plenty of space to move comfortably in partner work.

Dancing shoes are recommended but not mandatory. 👟👟

⏰ Class Structure

Tuesdays
7:30 – 9:30 PM

Beginner level with Evelina
Improver level with Gaby

Both groups run simultaneously in the same space.

Each session lasts 2 hours, giving everyone time to practise both roles, rotate partners, ask questions, and properly integrate the material.

🤝 No Partner Needed

You don't need to bring a partner.

We rotate partners during class so everyone can practise with different dancers and develop strong leading and following skills.

We teach both roles in every class using our own Grasshopper and Gecko system, THE Sanura system. 💅🏼

🍻 The Sanura Tradition

After every class we head to a local pub nearby for drinks, chats, and connection.

Because honestly — if we’re learning social dancing, we should also enjoy the social part.

You can join in different ways:

Drop-in tickets
Bundles of 3+ classes
Bundles of 5+ classes
Bundles of 10+ classes

Bundles offer flexibility while encouraging regular practice.

If you miss a class, we record the session content so you can catch up.

Bundle tickets can also be transferred to another date if you can’t attend a particular session (subject to availability).
