Join Soru for Queer Yoga at The Common Press Dalston, part of our wellbeing series as we ease into the colder months. Centring queers and FLINTA folx of the global majority, these sessions offer time to slow down, stretch and reconnect with your body.

Soru’s caring, gentle and invitational approach brings together breathwork, yoga poses, slow flow and guided meditation, accompanied by a curated soundscape. Move at your own pace, take breaks when you need to and explore what feels good for your body.

Whether you’re new to yoga or returning to your practice, there’s space to rest, release tension, build strength and feel more grounded. All levels, bodies and ages are welcome.

Yoga mats will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.

About Soru (she/they)

Soru (they/she) is a queer diasporic Eelam Tamil organiser, educator, researcher, writer and movement practitioner. They started their yoga practice in 2008 (initially as a coping strategy as a teenager for exam revision stress), deepening their practice over the years and then completed their yoga teacher’s training in India in 2019. They are passionate about sharing this practice which has helped resource and sustain them through difficult times, and they are experienced in teaching yoga both online and in person in both group and 1:1 settings. Soru is also a trained dancer and completed her Personal Training qualification; they bring their multi-faceted knowledge and experience of movement and the body to their yoga sessions.
