Join Kate Malyon @katemalyon & Dr Sé M. Nomyo @seamali for a two-hour writing workshop.

AN UPDATE:

The weather is not on our side. Not only does it look like rain all day, but there are reports of sewage spills around Walpole Bay. So, we're not going to be swimming as part of the workshop. This means, things will be a little shorter and kept inside the project space rather than on the beach / in the sea. Flints will be providing us with some hot drinks to keep us cosy inside - and there’ll be some delicious sweet treats on offer too. The space is perfect for curling up and scribbling away.

OPEN TO ALL. You don’t have to have to be a writer or have ever written before. Equally, if you’re a writer who might get something out of the experience, you’re very welcome.

WHAT TO BRING:

Layers / blankets / hot water bottles - to keep you warm, and your preferred writing tools [notebook, pen, laptop — whatever works for you].

WHAT WE'LL DO:

This workshop will follow a similar format to the August session. Returning participants can explore how prompts shift across seasons, and newcomers are very welcome too!
We’ll meet at Flints Project space by Newgate Gap, where we’ll begin by watching Return to Water, a short film created by Kate and Sé. From there, we’ll move through a series of writing prompts designed to help you tune into yourself and your surroundings.

ACCESS:

Access to the space is via the Newgate Gap slope - which is off of Sweyn Road and Percy Road. The project space is approx 68 metres down the slope. The slope is a smooth, tarmac surface with a fairly steep gradient. At the entrance, there is a small lip in the door - there is a ramp available, if needed.

There is no accessible toilet on the premises.

7 steps from workshop space to toilet.
