Frozen Warnings - Reimagining Nico’s The Marble Index and Desertshore
Downloads an .ics file · Times are in Europe/London · Google Calendar
Nearly 60 years since the release of Nico’s groundbreaking solo album The Marble Index, artist and performer Peter Groom reinterprets the landmark record and its follow-up Desertshore.
Written and recorded at the suggestion of Jim Morrison after Nico left The Velvet Underground in 1967, The Marble Index and Desertshore represent a crucial turning point in Nico’s career from Warhol muse to avant-garde artist in her own right, offering audiences a challenging, dark new sound, and an experience like no other.
Performing alongside a live trio, Groom reimagines Nico’s music for today, exploring unexpected echoes between the world she knew and now.
Created and performed by Peter Groom in collaboration with Osnat Schmool, Annie Dearnley and Josh Considine.
Doors 7pm. Show 8pm.
